The US Douglas F3D ''Skyknight'' Fighter Jet was another early Cold War Era, Carrier-based Fighter used by The US Navy and Marine Corps. First deployed in 1951, over 250 Models were produced. The ''Skyknight'' saw service in The Korean War (1950-1953) and later would be used as a surveillance platform during The Vietnam War (1965-1975). The Class was retired in 1970. Over (15) variants were developed during it's service history. Piloted by (2), The F3D was 45-feet long with a wingspan of 50-feet. Powered by a Twin Westinghouse Turbojet Engines, each produced 3,600-IBF of Thrust. They rated an airspeed of 565-mph with a Mission range of over 1,500-miles. Operational ceiling was rated at 33,000-feet. Armament included (4) 20mm Cannon and the ability to support either (4) AA Missiles or (2) Rockets. The Fighter could also support up to 2,000-lbs of munitions.
