The ''Nine Bows''

The term ''Nine Bows'' in relation to ancient Egypt, is used to denote The Enemies of that Culture. Regardless if that exact number is relevant. In it's original context, The ''Nine Bows'' (denoting the weapon), were meant to imply The Nubian People. Later, the symbolism was to other Enemies added. In Egyptian Art, The ''Nine Bows'' are portrayed as Human – each dressed differently (although actual physical differences were rarely added). The images were always placed at the bottom of the feet of whatever Pharaoh sat upon The Throne of Egypt. The ''Nine Bows'' appear in both statuary and relief Art, and are often found in Funerary motifs.
