Cheaply made and extremely effective, The Russian Naval (formerly Soviet) ''Osa''-Class Missile Boat was first deployed on the mid-1960s, as a Coastal Defense platform. It is estimated that over (400) of The Class were produced for The Navy (with some being sold to ''friendly'' Nations). The Boat class is still in use today. Although defined as a ''Boat'', The ''Osa'' is more akin to a ''fast Cutter''. (2) variants exist, different only by initial tonnage (between 180 to 225 gross tons). Typically 130 feet in length with a 25 foot beam, The ''Osa'' is powered by (5) Diesel Engines with a rated speed of 40-knots (60 mph). Crew compliment is (30). Primary weapons are (4) P-15 Termit AS Missiles, each with an effective range of between 25 to 50 miles (depending on warhead deployment needs). In addition, The ''Osa'' supports (2) 30mm Deck Guns.
