Secutor Gladiator

An unusual Fighting Unit among Gladiators, The Secutor (or Pursuer), was designed to counter the Net Throwing Retiarii. Similar to The Murmillo Fighter, He wore only leather Armor for protection (including a leather form of The Manica). Allowed to carry a smaller oval Shield (of wood), The Secutor was forced to wear a totally enclosed (and form fitting) helmet. The helmet had not neck protection and vision was restricted to to small “eye holes”. Their primary weapon was the Gladius Sword. The purpose of the small eyelets were to snare (and stop) thrusts from Trident Spears.
