A 5-pointed Star in Heraldry is often referred to as a Mullet. When used to denote a “Jewish” connection, a single open hole is placed in the center. Stars were used to convey many ideals and traits. They were mostly gold or yellow in tincture (with other color variations used). Some Cultures forbade the use of a Star (as it had Satanic meaning). Stars are not seen in many English Shields.
