The Ancient Egyptian Goddess known as Mafdet, was The Protector of Egypt's Scorpions and Snakes. ''She'' dates to The First Dynasty (3,100 BC). Human-like in form, ''Mafdet'' had the Head of a Cat and later that of a Mongoose. As a Protector, She was invoked to protect One from the bite of any venom inducing Reptile or Animal. Also a Protector to The Pharaoh, Mafdet took ''Wrongdoers' to the feet of Pharaoh to await His Judgment. Ruled against, Mafdet would rip out the transgressors heart. She would continue this employment for The Rulers of Egypt well through the establishment of The New Kingdom of 1,550 BC.
