A Scottish weapon developed during the 15th Century, it was similar to The Bardiche. A member of the Polearm Family of weapons, the Jedwart staff was around 6 feet long. It was topped with a double-edged, slender axe-like blade. Described as using a "scythe like movement" to properly strike, it was popular for use against lightly armored troops and cavalry horses. The Jedwart Stave fell out of use towards the 16th Century. VERY few actual examples have survived and most seen are reproductions.
