A “Medium” Sword, The Uchigatana was also the last of the “Straight” Swords made in Feudal Japan. Seen in the mid 16th Century, The Uchigatana was a single-edged blade that was roughly 4.5 to 5 feet in length. It was carried in a scabbard. The weapon featured a 12-inch handle (and could be used as a single or dual handed weapon). These blades were favored by Late Period Cavalry and specialized mounted Troops.
