Built in 1917 - to solve Italy's problem of having no armored units or ability to outsource. The Fiat Company was chosen to design a heavy armored vehicle. Weighing 40 tons, The Fiat 2000 was 25 feet long by 11 feet wide. It had an interior compartment that was 11 feet high and could hold a crew of 10. The primary weapon of The Fiat 2000 was a 65mm Cannon and (6) 6.5mm Machine Guns. Propulsion was through a 6-cylinder slant water cooled systems which gave 240 horsepower. Slow at 5 miles per hour, The Fiat 2000 featured 6 speeds (4 forward, 2 reverse). Featuring a fully rotational top turret – sadly only 2 were produced (due to the expense). The Fiat 2000 saw combat in The Libyan Pacification Wars of 1923-32.
