As we have previously read, The Hanseatic League was a powerful European trade and commerce alliance that existed from the 12th thru 15th Centuries. They controlled much of the Medieval trade and even influenced the course of European history to a great extent. Composed of many member Nations, their ships were identified by a standard series of "colors" (flags). Originally using Streamers (or Pennants), these evolved to Banners and later full Ensigns. The Standard color scheme was White and Red. The member Nation used various icons to identify their Countries. Sizes varied according to the Era of usage.
