Coolus Helmet

This Helmet was produced in the late 3rd Century B.C. up to 79 A.D.  Made from brass, it was designed from the Celtic helmets the Legionaries encountered in Gaul. A plain metal covering, it had some ridging and could have cheek plates attached (via metal wiring or hinges). This was he standard helmet for Rome until the inception of The Gallic and Italic types.
