The 15th Mississippi Infantry was a collections of 6 Companies formed from Counties in the State of Mississippi, who volunteered to fight for The Confederacy during The American Civil War of 1861-1865. The 15th was assigned to The Army of Tennessee and fought in 7 major engagements of The Western Theater. Most notably at Shiloh (1862) and in the Defense of Atlanta  (1864). Most of the Regiment was decimated at The Battle of Franklin, Tennessee in 1864. Only 1 Regiment survived to surrender in 1865. The Regiment's Colors were based on The First National Confederate Flag, known as "The Stars and Bars". Featuring 3 horizontal Stripes of Red, White and Red, the Upper Canton was Blue. 7 Gold, 6-Pointed Stars arranged in a circle (representing the Original Southern States to secede from 1860 to 1861). Embroidered on the center White Stripe was the phrase "Victory or Death".
