This weapon was a principle cavalry saber for many in The Imperial Army of The Quing Dynasty (16th Century). It was so popular that Infantry Officers also adopted it's use and carry. Known as the “Willow Leaf Saber”, The Liuyedao Sword weighed 3-pounds and was 36 to 39 inches in length. They were single-edged and drawn to a point. A slight curve was present. Normally, the blade was carried in a wooden or leather scabbard.
