As we have seen with various forms of Chinese ''Mirrored'' Armor, ''Dark'' Armor was another form of mostly ceremonial Armor. The term ''Dark'' derives from the fact that during production, only black ferrous metal was used. This metal was often burnished (hard steel brushed), into a somewhat dull or dark sheen. Often decorated with inlays of other metals shaped into designs, ''Dark'' Armor still gave off a ''glow'' when exposed to The Sun. Most examples of Dark Armor usage was related to Funerary Wear by Ceremonial Guards, employed as Guards to a Noble's or Emperor's Body. The earliest mention of Dark Armor dates to the 2nd Century AD.
