The pending ''Dreadnought''-Class of Ballistic Missile Submarine will be Great Britain's future ''Sea Deterrent'' (regarding it's Nuclear Defensive Posture). The Class is to replace the aging ''Vanguard''-Class BMS. Said to serve for a 25 to 30 year period, The ''Dreadnought''-Class is slated for (4) vessels - (3) of which are currently drydocked (construction). First sea trials are set for 2028. The ''Dreadnought'' Submarines will displace over 17,000-tons. Measuring over 500-feet in length with a Beam of 43-feet. Powered by a single Nuclear Reactor with a Turbo Pump Drive - initial speed and underwater duration is Classified. Weapons slated are (4) 21-inch Torpedo Tubes and (12) Trident Nuclear capable Missiles. Crew complement is rated to 130 Officers and Men.
