A God of Ancient Egypt’s 18th Dynasty (1,500 BC) – ‘’Bata’’ was common in Upper Egypt. Identified as the ‘’brother’’ of noted Deity ‘’Anubis’’, Bata too was associated with Death and Funerary Rites. Whereas Anubis was portrayed with the head of a Jackal, Bata was so with a Bull. Early versions however of His Icon do not associate Him with a ‘’Human’’ Body.
