Wraith

The Wraith is a Spirit, highly dangerous and dedicated to the torment of The Living. The idea of Wraith's actually go back to Ancient Greece (although most Cultures maintain a similar Myth). In terms of Western Civilization, the term "Wraith" derives from 18th Century Scotland. On most cases, they are Humans who died violently or without justice. They return as insanely angered Spirits, bent on "righting their wrong". Often "peace" for The Wraith is not achieved until the "offender" is brought to justice (especially in terms of murder). Descriptions of Wraith's vary. Commonly, they are said to be great black shapes, or shrouded in hooded capes. They can have faces (or not). Sometimes, all that is seen are glowing Red eyes. They also often are said to have great claw-like hands (sometimes skeletal). Similar to a Banshee, Wraiths are also said to make loud, shrieking cries. They also have an odor - described as that of "the Grave".
