A legend regional to Stropshire, England - "Wild Edric" is a story over 1,000 years old. Edric was said to have been a Saxon Cavalry Commander who - took his Troop and raced to engage The Norman threat (aka William The Conqueror). He and his entire Troop were killed in battle. It was further said Edric swore that he and his men would always come to "defend England when it was threatened. It is said that the local Mines "shake" as if a thundering horde wad "rising from the ground". This phenomenon stops just short of the entrance. It was said to have last occurred in 1942. Several Medieval Chronicles mention a Horseman named Edric...........
