Although ''Werewolves, Werejaguars and Werepanthers'' were well know to The Ancients – the concept of ''Werehyena'', was indicative to African Mythos. The Hyena was seen by many as a fierce Killer and Scavenger – much feared and avoided. Therefore, the idea of having a Human being able to transform into a ''Half-Human, Half-Hyena'' Creature, was truly terrifying. In most Tribal Beliefs, The Werehyena Mythos was part of a Curse. Once transformed, The Werehyena hunted Humans for food. Unlike their later European ''Wolf Cousins'', their ''bite'' did not transform a victim into their ''kind''. Both Male and Female could be so cursed, normally by a ''Witch'' or Shaman for some perceived ''slight''.
