Located in Mineral County, West Virginia - in the hilly and mountainous State Park near Jennings Randolph Lake, one can find a curious geologic anomaly called "Waffle" Rock. The Sandstone rock is supposedly 300,000 years old. Part of a larger vein, located upon a high plateau, Geologists think that it broke off thousands of Centuries ago, falling to the base. Even local Native American Tribes "know" of the stone (being mentioned as "magic", in their Histories of 1,000 years ago). The rock is very unusual. The entirety of the stones surface is complete imprinted in a series of strange and regular patterns. The "checkered" pattern is reminiscent of a Waffle Gridle imprint. Geologists were at a loss to explain how the impression was made. Skeptics cite Centuries of water flow, but the regular patterning us obviously not of "natural" origins. Many in The UFO Community have their own theory. The rock possibly bears the imprint of an Ancient Spacecraft "landing" spot. The weight of the unknown Craft imprinted the strange patterns into the "soft" Sandstone. Some claim "scoring" (from heat), is even visible. Skeptics cite Native Americans or Colonials. In The Native American case, they simply avoided the area (again seen as "Holy Ground". Colonials of the 18th Century also did not migrate that far, and even had they, what would be the purpose behind the imprint or carving. The imprints bear no evidence of cutting or chiseling by tools. Made by nature or a hoax or perhaps, PROOF of an Ancient Spacecraft Landing Site.
