The University of Texas, Southwest Medical Center is one of The State of Texas’ largest teaching Facilities for would-be Doctors and Undergraduates. Built in 1943, it has expanded to not only train Physicians, but serve as Out-Patient Service for nearly 2 Million Patients a year. It is also the location for a bizarre phenomenon known as ‘’The Ghost Faced’’ Building (in no reference to the character from the film ‘’Scream’’). The ‘’Face’’ first ‘’appeared’’ around 1972 on the North wall of the 4-story Administration Building. It is the visage of what appears to be a ‘’smiling or smirking’’ Boy. A pale white image, it can only be viewed at certain angles. At first seen as a Student prank, The ‘’Face’’ was painted over. It again became visible several weeks later. Many times the wall was painted, but each time – it reappeared. Even sandblasting was done. Nothing seems to work. The ‘’Face’’ – according to some, is linked to a suicide it seems. In the 1960s, a Student – knowing He was to be ‘’washed out’’ of Medical School for poor grades, jumped to His death. Perhaps His Spirit refused to leave the location and is now permanently imprinted on the Building. The image also seems to be better seen AFTER the rain as opposed to a bright day. This too was linked to the fact that The Boy killed Himself on a rainy day. Now of course, no ‘’official records’’ of such a suicide can be found. This was ‘’explained’’ as The School not wanting such publicity and had The Police ‘’lose all files’’. Urban Legend?
