The Stronsay Beast

Another of Orkney Island (Scotland) famous beasties , it was originally reported in 1808. The carcass of a strange animal washed up on shore (tangled in the rocks). Upon closer examination, the creature was well over 150 feet long. It had a small snake-like head and a long body. The creature had 4 fins (or flippers). The creature also had no bones (only cartilage). Sadly the remains were burned (but a sketch was made).
