According to several Biblical writings – The ‘’Seamless Robe’’ was a garment worn by Christ before His execution on The Cross. It was said to be a ‘’miraculous cloth’’ which bore no evidence of stitching or seams. The clothing consists of one piece, with flared cuffs (arms) and an opening for the head and neck. Other than the bottom opening for Christ’s legs, there are no other openings. It was said that The Robe was removed from a battered Christ at Golgatha. Roman Guards gambled with dice for which of them would ‘’win’’ the unusual trophy (of which even Romans had no idea of how it was made). In time, the rather od piece of clothing would make it’s way into custody of several Medieval Cathedrals as well as several iconic Rulers from History (to include Emperor Charlemagne).

However, several ‘’Garments’’ came to life by the 15th Century AD – which claimed to be the ‘’real’ last clothing worn by Christ. This created and still does several authenticity issues. Of the two still known, One was cut into 4 pieces by Priests trying to hide and later smuggle their versions out of France at the time of The Revolution of the 1790s. These pieces are venerated at different French Cathedrals. The other, which was possibly the one ‘’owned’’ by Emperor Charlemagne in 900 AD – is located at The Cathedral of Trier in Germany. This has been venerated (19) times in it’s History since the 16th Century. The Trier Garment cannot be carbon dated to any reliable conclusion. This is due to it being repaired many times with silk and other cloth. Further, Priests dipped The Garment in a rubber-like fluid as a means of preventing it from decomposition. As such, it did in fact preserve it, but ruined it at the same time. The last time the Seamless Robe was shown was in 2012.
