A Regional story from The Northern Coast of Norfolk, England (in The Village of Northrepps) - is the Case of The "Screaming Pit". Although actually an extremely deep small and unassuming Lake, it is incredibly deep. A geological anomaly, it is also the site of a tragic and haunting tale. It is said that back in 1782, a very attractive Daughter of a local Land Owner, fell for a local "bad boy". After much threats and monies, the boy was persuaded to leave the girl alone by her Father. However, on the night in question, when the two were to elope, the boy did not show at the pre-arranged spot if their rendezvous - The Pit. Sad and dejected, maybe the girl planned to end her own life. She flung her body into the Pit and drowned. Her body was never recovered. From then on, every February 24th (the anniversary of her death), loud screams and crying can be heard coming from The Pit. If one hears her cry, it is said death will soon follow. The location has also registered very high on Paranormal Investigations, with examples of EVP and Photography.
