Originating during the reign of King Henry VIII (England), The ''Scavenger's Daughter'' was an "A"-frame shaped instrument mounted on a spinning pivot or spindle (made of metal). One's head was strapped down securely. The Victim's hands were placed mid-point (at the lower end spreads). By swinging the head area of the "A"-frame downward (upside down) - the legs would compress over the chest and head. This would increase blood flow to the head rapidly. Continued compression would cause blood to eventually flow from the nose and mouth. Documented as having not as been used regularly as a torture device, an example is currently on display in The Tower of London.
