The North Shore Monster

Another strange tale and ‘’Monster Sighting’’ from 1840s Utah (US), many Workers and Settlers reported seeing a ‘’massive and aggressive’’ Beast that purportedly lived in The Great Salt Lake. The Creature was said to resemble a type of Bison or Buffalo, save the fact that it had flippers. The Beast was noted to exit the Lake waters and ‘’charge on land’’ any trespassers. The Monster had an unearthly ‘’growl’’ (as reported to several newspapers of the time and dubbed The North Shore Monster). Never photographed, such sightings would remain common well into the 1880s, when they suddenly stopped. Given the reports of other strange Lake Creatures from around The World, such a tale is not that unusual – for some.
