Considered to be the earliest known Unidentified Flying Object photo of ''Modern'' times, The Mt. Washington Photograph was taken from a sister peak to Mt. Washington in The US State of New Hampshire, in 1897. This was the Era of The ''Flying Ship'' Sightings being seen throughout The World in the late 1890s and early 20th Century. The long, cylindrical ''Ship'' was said to move at a ''fast pace'', dodging in and out of the cloud cover over Mt. Washington. It was described as massive, with modern calculations placing the ''Craft'' at several hundred feet long. No mention of lights were made, but it was said to make ''no sound'' as it glided by. It should be noted that the aviation technology of The Period did NOT support such a ''flying ship'' (although ''lighter than air'' vessels such as Observation Balloons were quite common). Still such a massive Craft would have been unusual to be seen at around 8,000-feet!
