The ''Moonshaft''

The ''Moonshaft'' - also known as The ''Moon Cave'', is a mysterious Cavern which contains a possible Extraterrestrial Artifact, thousands of years in age. The story begins in 1944 with Antonin Horak, a former Military Commander. While in The Tatra Mountains of Czechoslovakia, He came across a ''strange Cave, with an unusual opening''. It appeared to have been ''torn and jagged'' as if ''something crashed into it''. Several feet inside The Cave, the entire interior was blocked by a large circular ''stone-like'' Object. It ''felt like stone, but was also possibly a kind of polished metal''. Further examination showed that a large ''crack'' ran the length of the Object. Horak could ''peer into'' the crack'' but saw nothing. Further examination of the outside of the entrance revealed a strange ''impression'' of a ''crescent shape'' which looked to be ''part of'' the buried Object in the Cave. Sound inside The Cave was greatly amplified as well. The Object did not match up with any archaeological evidence of any Culture in The Region. When the Object was struck, it gave off a ''green colored spark''. Seeing that The Object was possibly worth something, Horak made a detailed Map of the location and was determined to return later. Immigrating to The United States in The 1950s, Horak would try numerous times to secure funds to go back. He would die in 1975 without ever doing so. However, Horak told many people in The UFO Community (who cite The Moonshaft may be the site of a long crashed Alien Spacecraft). Despite many attempts to secure funding as well, Local Government refuses to allow The Expedition, save the only explanation being that the Region is unsafe for such a venture. Some even state the Cave was sealed. As late as 2010, another Expedition raised over $200,000 USD to investigate. The Government is still ''resisting''. What could The Moonshaft ''really'' be?
