And you probably thought Medieval Bestiaries were strange. So is the story of The Michigan Dogman. Supposedly first reported in 1887, The Dogman was a humanoid creature with the dead of a large Dog (or Wolf depending on who you ask). The Dogman has no fur on it's body (ergo no relation to The Wolfman). First seen by a pair of Lumberjacks working in the deep woods in Wexford County, Michigan (US) in 1887 the sight scared them (apparently Dogman growled at them). Spotty reports of The Dogman continued up to 1936, when local Ranchers began to report mutilated cattle, sheep and dogs in the Region. In 1938, a pack of 5 Dogmen were seen. The last known sighting of The Dogmen was in 1967. In 2007, a film emerged on the Internet purportedly showing a real Dogman caught by motion-activated camera in the deep woods of Wexford County. Although widely seen as a hoax, one never knows.
