Another Chapter in the continuing story of "Out of Place" Artifacts, The London Hammer is yet another example of extreme fake, or proof positive of something "else". The Hammer is claimed by Creationists as ''proof positive'' that Man is much older than we are conventionally taught. Found on a River Creek bank (near London, Texas) in 1936 by Farmer Max Hahn and his wife, they noticed the strange rock partially buried. What struck them first, was that a piece of wood was protruding from it. Taking it home, The Hahn's broke the rock open. There inside, was an iron Hammer Head (perfectly encased). Seen as a "Curio", The Hahn's kept it in their Family until they died. But locally, the story of the strange artifact continued. In 1980, we'll known American Creationist Carl Baugh convinced Relatives to sell him the "Hammer". Baugh had "Experts" examine his find....with startling results. First, the Ordovician Rock in which the Hammer was encased was estimated to be 400 Million years old. This was substantiated by a fossilized Sea Shell (also found embedded). The Hammer head was 96% pure iron. The style wad similar to 19th Century tools used for "fine metal work". How did a 19th Century Hammer come to be encased in 400 Million year old rock? Was Man and his technology much older than we have been taught? If not and a fake, Science has yet to explain how it was accomplished. The London Hammer is currently on display in The Creation Museum in Glen Rose, Texas.
