The ''Lizard People'' of Los Angeles

 Perhaps Urban Legend or maybe even a Cover-Up , but a rather strange story came out of The Southern California City of Los Angeles in the 1930s. A story well reported on and one that disappeared equally as fast. It was the story of The Lizard People. G. Warren Shufelt, was a Mining Engineer convinced of lost Spanish Treasure buried underground of The City of Los Angeles. Purchasing a vacant Lot on Hill Street in 1934 and raising his own finances, Shufelt dug his Shaft. Using a self-invented and revolutionary X-ray Device, Shufelt didn't discover Spanish Gold, but supposedly an Ancient City of sophisticated Reptilian Lifeforms. Shufelt and his Research Team found literally thousands of Artifacts of these Beings, and an even more impressive network of Tunnel that stretched for many miles in all directions. He reported his find to The City Officials, who reported it to local Newspapers. The story was widely published for several weeks. Even photographs of the excavation Site was printed. Shufelt stated that he and his Teams found and deciphered several Golden Tablets that told the so-called History of these Lizard People. A form of Rosetta Stone was found to held decipher their language, according to Shufelt.

Apparently, this Race lived above ground over 5,000 years ago and were highly advanced. They had constructed several large Cities, and had an equally large population. Shufelt stated that about 3,000 years ago, a Meteor Shower hit The Earth and wiped out large portions of their People. In order to survive, they took to moving their entire population underground. Using a chemical process (not shovel or pick), The Lizard People were able to create long and smooth underground Tunnels. They used these to provide a transportation route between Cities. The Lizard People adapted their food source to grow underground. Their underground homes were mini Skyscrapers , built out of a material much stronger than conventional concrete. The Lizard People possessed a very high level of technological abilities, judging by what Shufelt reported. Our story now goes from the fantastic to outright. The story ran on every legitimate Newspaper for several weeks on The West Coast (even mentioned on The East). Photography taken if the excavations are widely available. But things started to change somewhat. First, during World War II, many of the supposed Tunnels to Lizard City were sealed by The US Military. By the 1950, and the expansion of underground Railways systems, any trace of Shufelt s find vanished. Any supposed artifacts recorded by Shufelt likewise vanished. Although the News records still exist, no one in Official Position will talk of it.

Shufelt likewise mysteriously vanished. All his records and journals , too. In the 1960s, when curious Reported unearthed Shufelt s story, The City said he was mistaken. He and his Teams uncovered Turn of The Century Tunnels, dug for underground trains (that never came into being). One must ask, wouldn't The City had known of this in 1934 According to Shufelt, the Tunnels stretched far into Santa Monica and as North as Pasadena. Were all these Tunnels likewise sealed And what of The Golden Tablets? Tales of Reptilians feature prominently in many Ancient Cultures, and form many ideas in Extraterrestrial Contact theories since the 1980s, Conspiracy Theorists on the Fringe cite Reptilians from other World's (and disguised as Human Politicians, no less), are influencing Human History for nefarious reasons. Were our Lizard People one on the same Shufelt was clear in his mind on one issue. The Lizard People suddenly vanished from their environment several thousand years ago, without apparent cause or reason. The Lizard People are either an elaborate hoax or elaborate Cover-up you choose!
