A supposed ''Haunted'' or ''Cursed'' Painting ''The Hands Resist Him'' was painted in 1972 by Bill Stoneman. The painting depicts Stoneman's view of Himself and His ''evolution'' through Life. The young Boy is Stoneman. The Doll represents His ''Guide through Life'' (although this was never explained. Finally, The Boy stands back against a multi-paned Glass window. A series of ''ghostly hand prints'' are seen on various panes of glass (representing the different paths in Life the Artist could have taken). Originally displayed in an art Gallery in California the painting would be purchased by an American Actor. After His death (and Estate Sale), it came into the hands of a older Married Couple (Vinters by trade). They decided to sell The Painting when ''things'' began to happen.
The most common occurrence is that The Boy in the painting is said to ''change sides'' in the Picture (from left to right). Sometimes The Doll disappears other times the hand prints do. At times the Doll is ''holding a Pistol'' on The Boy. Others, ghostly ''faces'' appear in the window panes. Even just viewing the painting for prolonged periods will make one ''sick'' (ill). No conclusive explanation had ever been given as to why The Painting is supposedly cursed. Some say Stoneman was slowly going insane and only painted it at times when His ''mental health'' was at it ebb. Everyone who has owned The Painting (save the Couple who last brought it) have died under unusual circumstances. Sold on-line for over $1,000 USD, the Artist Stoneman has stated that He is not ''insane'' and has no clue of where the ''story'' came from. Of course, He only talks by phone and has not been seen in Public for years it is claimed. A private Gallery in The State of Michigan (USA) currently owns ''The Hands Resist Him''.
