Hammer Films 1964 (and in rich Technicolor), ''The Gorgon'' was made during Hammer Studios earliest days of ''Horror making''. Although at times the Plot drags (and the Acting can be silly), not to mention the obvious ''rubber'' snakes in the title Creature's hair The film is a must see for fans of 1960s English Horror Films or Hammer Studios Fanatics. At least staring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing to give it flash The Plot goes as such. A local Doctor is slave to Magaera a Centuries old Gorgon Spirit, who during ''normal hours'' is a beautiful young girl. However, when the ''Spirit take Her'', She transforms into a Gorgon. As we know, according to Ancient Greek Mythos, these were Female Beings who, if a Man or Woman was foolish enough to cast their eyes upon them would turn to solid stone. A series of strange deaths (people turning to stone), causes The Hero (and love interest to the Human guise of Magaera), steps in at the last second to whack off The Head of The Gorgon, as was prescribed in Greek Myth as the only manner of killing a Gorgon. However, Our Hero caught a fatal glimpse before the death stroke, He slowly turns to stone but it is assumed that both He and Magaera's human form (now free), can be together in peace in The Hereafter.
