Located in Charleston, South Carolina the Old City Jail (also Charleston Jail) has stood since 1802. It served as imprisonment for hundreds (perhaps thousands) of transgressors. Some ended up murdered by fellow prisoners or took their own lives, rather than ''face Lady Justice''. It was used by The Confederacy to hold Union War Prisoners, and many infamous and notorious names in Criminal History. The walls have absorbed much misery and sorrow and of course hate.

The Jail was converted into a School (American College of Building Arts) in 2000, but it was claimed that costs to maintain it within the bounds of an Historic Building (per State Law), was too much and The School moved. The Jail was sold to a private Developer in 2016, and remains to date ''empty'' (being a relative term).

Almost from the beginning, The Jail has had a ''life of it's own''. Doors opening and closing (fast and slow), footsteps, cold and hot spots all manner of paranormal activity has been reported. Shadowy figures and quick movements of ''something'' were regularly reported well into the 21st Century. While a College, Security Alarms would activate often with no rational explanation ever found. Investigated by Paranormal Investigators several time, all have concluded that The Old Jail is a ''hot bed'' of paranormal activities.
