The so-named ''Sallie House'', is located in Atchison, Kansas (US). Reputedly built in the early 1880s, Urban Legend states that a former Slave and Her young Daughter named ''Sallie'' lived their. Sallie's Father was a Caucasian Doctor who had an affair with her Mother, thus ''producing'' Sallie. And while The American Civil War abolished Slavery, ''mixing Races'' (in both The North and South were still ''frowned upon''. The Doctor built the simple House for His Mistress and Daughter to live in. The price – NEVER tell anyone in Town of Sallie's ''true'' Father. The arrangement seemed to work until Sallie was 6 years of age. She came down with an infected appendix, and needed emergency surgery. And while Sallie's Father WAS a Physician – He decided to ''operate'' at Sallie's House, other than a Hospital. The surgery did not go well, and Sallie died. This so enraged Her Mother, that She fought with The Doctor – who killed Her as well. Rumor was that He buried them both in the basement. The House would be abandoned for many years, with people believing that Sallie and Her mother just ''moved away''.

A score of private Owners have purchased and ''lived'' in The House. Modestly renovated – it seems no One can live there for long. You see, The House is a hotbed of Paranormal and Poltergeist Activity – very well documented. Invisible ''Shoves'', ''scratches and gouges'' in the middle of the night (while your asleep), are a few of the ''physical manifestations'' experienced. ''Moving'' toys and household items, to Cold Spots, ''Shadow People'' and as stated – just about all forms of ''activity'' has been recorded and documented. Most think that it is Sallie and Her Mother (Sallie mostly). Anger and confusion seem to be the two most commonly ''felt'' emotions when one is inside The House. And Sallie seems to ''attack'' only Males. The ''Sallie House'' was being ''rented'' as a ''haunted bed and breakfast'' location – but it has since stopped doing so. No real ''answer'' was given. But many people travel from around The Country to visit one of the most documented ''haunted houses'' in The United States.
