A rather ''gruesome'' Ghost Story, ''Pearl Bryan'' was a 22-year old girl who lived in Fort. Thomas, Kentucky (US). Her death in 1896 created such a National stir, that it is still well remembered locally – perhaps for the associated Haunting that came with it. Pearl had a Fiance and was to be be married. But it was soon learned, that She was having an Affair with a local Dental Student. Pearl became pregnant. Perhaps She may have gotten into this ''State'' by Her Fiance, but most think it was the Lover's Child. At any rate, on February 1st of 1896 – Pearl's headless body was found. So gruesome a Murder for that time and place, Her discovery of pregnancy by Examining Physicians made the Case even more heinous. In time (thanks to several ''Love Letters''), Pearl's Lover was found and arrested. He in turn implicated His School Roommate as having helped Him. And while the Roommate ''admitted'' they committed the Crime as a means of ''removing'' the issue of Pearl's pregnancy and subsequent ''scandal'', Her Lover NEVER did. Regardless, they were both convicted and hung in 1897. But poor Pearl's head was never recovered. A nearby Lake was searched, and so forth. Police speculated that the ''clever Men'' may have burned it up in The Dental School's Furnace (which was designed to cremate organic material. This is very much the reason that Pearl is seen as a Headless Ghost or the source of ''severe Poltergeist Activity''. Where Her body was found, a YMCA Facility now stands. Over the years, MANY reports of ''Shadow Figures'', the ''smell of perfume'' and of course a ''Headless Entity'' – have all been reported. Of course, The haunting is also associated with the fact that Pearl is still searching for Her missing Head, and can't rest until it is ''found''.
