Greek Philosopher Athenodorus in 80 BC, wrote of his "otherworldly" encounter with a "tormented Spirit" that haunted his house in Athens. Quiet and secluded, It served his purposes for "contemplation". Not long after moving in. Atthenodorus was "welcomed" by the frightening Spectre of a "shrouded, skeletal figure", clad in chains. Every night the Ghost would wander the Villa, moaning and shrieking. Apparently, many of the neighbors were aware of this "restless" soul, heard "wailing" for years. Athenodorus was told the "tale" of a former Owner"s Slave, being chained alive in the walls of the Villa, for some unspecified crime. Athenodorus began to excavate his home. Sure enough, he found the skeletal remains, indeed chained to the inside of a hidden and sealed room. After removing the skeleton and giving it a "proper burial", Athenodorus was plagued no more by the tormented Spirit. The story was well documented and is still told Regionally.
