One either steadfastly cite The Acambaro Figurines as fakes, or that they are proof positive of them being definite "Out of Place" Artifacts. The 33,000 baked clay composite figures were found by German Immigrant and Hardware worker Waldemar Julsrud in 1944. While riding on a horse in the country near The Mexican City of Acambaro, Guanajuato - he noticed a strange rock formation that interested him. Stopping to look, he saw what appeared to be a figurine sticking out of the dirt (exposed by the weather). As he dug, he uncovered a cache of Ancient Pre-Columbian Artifacts that defied explanation. The Figurines were clearly "Saurian" in appearance (and representing many different species). Additionally, some of the creatures, had humanoid "riders" on their backs. These "riders" were representative of many then unknown Races and Cultures (Caucasian, Mongoloid and even Egyptian). Date to roughly 2,500 BC, they are from a time when Saurian life was long extinct with regards to Man's emergence as The Planet's dominate lifeform. This plus the far flung examples of other Cultures (the Riders), make their "being" impossible. Dated and debated many times since their discovery, the last testing of the figurines was in 1972. This test yielded inconclusive results. Many feel that the figures were commissioned by Julsrud as a way to make money. But one has to admit, the Region is full of unexplained artifacts as well. The Acambaro Figurines are still a puzzling find.
