The 1st Earth Battalion

If not strange, One might think that the name ‘’First Earth Battalion’’ was a totally fictious Title of perhaps some Sci-Fi Novel or Movie. But in reality, The Battalion IS a real thing and was (tacitly) supported (in part) by The US Army. ‘’Commanded’’ by one Jim Channon a retired US Army Lieutenant-Colonel (who passed away in 2017), The ‘’Unit’’ was an extension of a very real – and somewhat bizarre actual US Army operational Unit. This Unit, possibly part of the previously discussed ‘’Stargate Project’’, was founded to produce actual ‘’Psychic Soldiers’’ who could use Their ‘’Minds’’ to not only ‘’see Targets’’ (eg ‘’Remote Viewing’’) but influence such Targets to simply ‘’die’’ (eg Heart Attacks or other serious Medical malady).  Based at Fort Meade, Maryland (US), This Unit experimented with the Paranormal and crafted a potential ‘’Special Army’’ of such ‘’Super Soldiers’’. The Unit was identified as ‘’The First Earth Battalion’’.

Colonel Channon served 2 Tours in Vietnam as an Infantry Officer with Combat experience. Highly educated and a gifted Artist, He later adopted an ‘’Oriental’’ Mysticism philosophy, and honed His own perceived ‘’Psychic Abilities’’. After ‘’proving’’ such, The Pentagon, CIA and NSA supposedly approached Him to work for The Stargate Project. He would recruit 10 Men (all Officers), with demonstrated similar abilities. Their exploits were documented in the 2009 Satirical Dark-Comedy Drama ‘’The Men Who Stare at Goats’’. Simply, The Battalion experimented with Goats, actually ‘’stopping the animal’s hearts thru intense concentration’’.

Naturally, much of Film and The Battalion itself is considered ‘’classified’’ and speculative by The US Government. The Freedom of Information Act of 1974 allows for the description of a ‘’possible’’ Group and Study designed to explore Extra Sensory Perception (ESP) and other so-called Paranormal abilities. But greater proof was never forthcoming. Colonel Channon formed a ‘’civilian version’’ of The Battalion, recruiting people who follow a ‘’New Age’’ Philosophy. It still survives years after His death. Was The Government experimenting with such ideas? Could they have actually fielded a specialized Unit to use Paranormal abilities to strike at Enemies? Perhaps and Perhaps Not……It is as Always, Up to YOU to Believe or Not!
