Goddess of ''Sudden Storms'', Tempestas was an Ancient Roman Deity. Known of in Rome as early as the 2nd Century BC, She had several Temples dedicated to Her. Sudden and violent storms and torrents of rain were blamed on Her ''anger''. Later, such ''displays'' were viewed as Her ''blessings'' (for they brought rain to nourish crops). He very name would become the root of ''Tempest''.
