The Structured Light Scanner (or more commonly known as ''SLS ), is a Camera system used for the mapping (telemetry) of Light particles generated by ultraviolet or lower level light sources unseen by the Human eye. As the Camera ''picks'' up such light sources, coordinates (points) are assigned to a probable generating Object. As more energy is picked up more and more point are assigned. When all sources are measured, Points are then placed into a 3-dimensional ''form''. If the projected image is ''humanoid'' in shape, then the most common form projected by the Camera software id that of the traditional ''Stick Figure'' (these are also called ''Stripe Patterns''.

The SLS was developed to help measure and calibrate various scientific projects (such as Nuclear Fuel and Department of Defense Systems requiring a precise shape and distance of a potential ''leak'' or fissure). It is also used in Facial Recognition Protocols (identification). The calibration of other Optical Devices are also benefited by The SLS. The System has many applied applications to include the unintentional ''discovery'' of what The SLS can do for Paranormal Investigators. It has been learned (as of 2004), The SLS can ''pick up'' unseen energy generated by ''unknown sources''. The SLS will typically ''show'' Humans, animals and inanimate objects such as furniture etc. in an positive or negative ''heat'' signature (as it's software is programmed to do). It will only ''map'' sources which produce such low level ''light energy'' (that light generated by energy which cannot be seen by the ''naked eye''). In other words, The SLS can ''capture'' the ''image'' of a Ghost!

Skeptics decry that many more years of testing is needed, using verified base sources, so that proof of ''life after death'' could finally be certified. Paranormal Investigator argue, that no base can exist until ''we'' determine the nature of the ''physical composition'' of a Spirit. SLS Technology is very expensive and few Investigators can afford portable Units. But as technology advances and Models become more readily available, more and more ''proof'' can be shown. The SLS Systems currently used in this manner, also incorporate EVP Device, traditional Heat Sensing and EMP measurement devices to help qualify data taken in The Field.
