Son of King Bors, Sir Lionel was also said to be the Cousin to famed Round Table Knight – Lancelot. Some versions of his origin cite that after his Father was killed, Lionel was taken by The “Lady of The Lake” and raised in her unseen underwater Kingdom. A “Grail Quest” Knight, Lionel was responsible for learning of the illicit affair between Queen Guinevere and Sir Lancelot. He initially joined Mordred's Forces against Arthur at The Battle of Cammlann. Later, seeing that Mordred was false in many of his claims on Arthur's Throne, Lionel rejoined a small Force to fight against him. Mordred's Son killed Sir Lionel in Battle. Later Arthurian Fables show Sir Lionel, after his declaration of The Affair – being challenged by Lancelot to Combat (in order for Lionel to renounce his accusations). Killed in the Combat, Lancelot “resurrects” Lionel. Most later Fables have him dying in Combat at Cammlann.
