''Red Eye'' is said to be proof of a ''confirmed possession'' by a Loa or Ghede is Haitian Voodu. It is said when an Aspirant is ''taken over'' by a Spirit, the totality of their eyes turn Red in color. They remain as such until the Loa or Ghede leaves the body. In some case, ''Red Eyes'' are also associated with a Mambo (Voodoo Priestess), when She is the process of being ''enchanted''. In Art portrayals, many Loas are given Red Eyes to emphasize their supernatural abilities.
