Relating to some Sects of Hindu Culture – ''Pitrs'' were ''Divine'' Ancestral Spirits who oversaw People's Life. They were broken down into (3) Classes. The ''Jayestha'' (or Elder Spirits), The ''Dahak'' (or Spirits of Sacred Fire) and ''Samadhi'' (or Spirits who guarded Shrines). Some Sects also divided The Pitrs into (7) additional Classes of Guardian Spirits, relating to specific tasks.
