During Lithuania’s ‘’Pagan Belief’’ Era (Pre-Christianity), ‘’Pinciukas’’ was perceived as a form of The Devil. However, He was more akin to being a ‘’Trickster’’, who used evil practices to cause calamity. Portrayed as a Drawfish, Imp-like Being, Pinciukas lived in foul Swamps and Bogs. As such, places like this were greatly avoided. One means of protection against accidently having One’s home invaded by Him, was to make and display a fetish icon. Once displayed, The Pinciukas would stay away.
