Pesanta

 From Northern Spain, The Pesanta is an evil Spirit that takes the form of either a large black Dog or Cat. They have long hair and claws made of steel. They also have holes in their paws. This is so they cannot steal material items from your house. It is said that they like to drain the lifeforce of their sleeping victims, by standing on their chests and draining (just enough). Making (and displaying) a Cross from Palm leaves is known to ward off The Pesanta.
