 From Maylasia, Pelesit is a Spirit of Nautre that take the form of a Grasshopper. If caught, Pelesit must be kept in a glass jar and feed a drop of her Master's blood each day. In doing this, good crops will be yielded at harvesting time. If she escapes, nothing will ever grow again in the region. Some version have money being offered to Pelesit as a token of appreciation for good harvests. Pelesit is said to take the money and give it to the poor and needy.
