An Aztec (Mesoamerican) Deity – ''Opochtli'' was Patron of Hunting and Fish. The Aztec further believed it was Opochtli that ''gave'' Man the ability to make The Spear, Fishing Hook and most importantly, The ''Atlatl''. This device, as we have seen – allowed an unskilled spear Thrower to hurl the projectile many yards farther that One could unaided. The ''Spear Thrower'', would revolutionize not only Hunting, but Combat.
