A Germanic Myth that probably originated in The Teutonic Period, The Nixie are fresh water dwelling creatures. Akin to The Mermaid, The Nixie live in ponds and lakes throughout many Germanic Countries. Said to be very attractive, The Nixie's use their beauty as a trap for their potential mates - human males! The Nixie have a green tint to their skin and long dark green hair. They too have the characteristic "fish tail" (of course). They also have shapeshifting power - namely to become a "lost" Gray Horse. This is another trap, in which they use to ensnare their husbands. Taking the animal back to town (or for oneself), will ultimately have the "horse" lead the unlucky male to water. The Nixie transforms and takes her prize.
