A Chinese Goddess of Mythology – ''Meng Po'' is tasked with maintaining The ''Bridge of Forgetfulness''. In various Chinese Religious Beliefs regarding Reincarnation – Meng Po took Souls ready to ''transition'' to the ''next level'' – and pass them over The Bridge. Once done, She ''wipes clear'' all memory of their ''past life''. This serves to remove any ''hesitations, regrets, doubts etc'' which could impede their ''New Life''. Some variations of Meng Po, show Her giving the transitioning Soul a bowl of ''Forgetful Soup'' upon arriving at ''The Bridge''.
